What does it mean to be lactose-free?

Did you know about 65% of people are lactose intolerant? That’s why we created a healthy and delicious yogurt that everyone can enjoy.

What is lactose?

Lactose is the natural sugar found in milk. It's actually two sugars connected together, this connection makes it difficult to digest. But there's good news! The solution is simple. To remove lactose you simply have to separate the two sugars with a natural enzyme called lactase.

So, how do we do it?

During the yogurt making process we add an organic lactase enzyme to our Pennsylvania raw milk. The lactase enzyme breaks down lactose, AKA MILK SUGAR so that your body does not have to. It’s easy as one, two, three, ABC.

No more worrying about unpleasant side effects like bloating, gas, and nausea. Simply enjoy our rich, creamy, nutritious, lactose-free skyr and savor the joys of eating dairy once more!

Enjoy Dairy Again!

Yes, even if you’re lactose intolerant, you CAN have Painterland Sisters Organic Icelandic-style Skyr Yogurt — because it is lactose-free!
