Our cows are the heart and soul of Painterland Farms. They give us more than just milk—they gift us nourishment, connection to the land, and plenty of personality (seriously, each one is a character!). In return, we go above and beyond to give them the happiest, healthiest lives possible—lush pastures, fresh air, and plenty of love from our family.
Dairy is a simple, powerful gift from the land—and from our cows! At Painterland Sisters, we believe that real nourishment starts with real food, and dairy delivers in a big way. It’s packed with protein, 13 essential nutrients, and contains *22% of the calcium, 40% of the vitamin D and 10% of the potassium in the American diet (IDFA) — all working together to support strong bones, happy guts, healthy muscles, and steady energy. From little kids to grandparents, dairy helps fuel every stage of life.
In honor of June Dairy Month, we’re tipping our hats (and spoons) to a few of the incredible ladies who provide you with their wonderful dairy that creates your favorite Painterland Sisters skyr!
Meet Some of our Dairy Queens!
Blue Girl
- Age: 6
- Breed: Crossbred (a lovely mix of multiple breeds—think of her like a golden doodle!)
- Hobbies: Blue Girl lives for a good under-the-chin scratch. She’s also Hayley’s favorite cow!
- Fun Fact: She became a bit of a celeb on our socials for a photo of her sweetly admiring her skyr. Truly iconic!
Miss Swiss
- Age: 8
- Breed: Brown Swiss
- Hobbies: She mooooves at her own peaceful pace, and we love her for it. Calm, gentle, and a little goofy—she’s our old soul.
- Fun Fact: She’s one of the few Brown Swiss gals in our herd, making her extra special
Frosty
- Age: 5
- Breed: Crossbred (Milking Shorthorn + Holstein)
- Hobbies:
Frosty is spunky and loves to lead the excitement when it comes to stepping hoof into a new pasture!
- Fun Fact: Her freckles and soft personality make her unforgettable in the barn and beyond.
We love our cows. We honor them every day—but this month, we’re shouting it from the rooftops (and the pasture gates). These ladies are not only part of the Painterland farm family—they’re the reason we do what we do. 💛
